About the Program
Hi! My name is Nicole Ewing and I am the owner and head trainer of Active! Canine Coaching. My obedience training program is targeted towards high-energy dogs and works with their enthusiastic nature, not against it. What makes this program different from others? First, the program is tailored to you and your dog. I have a variety of training tools and methods that I use based on what works best for your dog. We also will work towards your specific goals, based on what you want to do with your dog. Do you want to run a 5k, go camping, or have a relaxing sit on the patio of BrewDog with your favorite pal? We can work on that. The second difference is that the learning is scenario-based. This means we will put your dog in a variety of scenarios with varying levels of distractions to make sure sit always means sit, not just in your living room. We will have the first 3 lessons in your home and the remaining 3 in nearby locations. Finally, the program is set up to give you the tools for continued learning outside of the class and even after the program ends. You will receive recommended exercises and activities after each lesson in addition to support check-ins from me. Are you ready to start enjoying life with your dog? Then let’s get started!

The goal of the training program is to create a better life for the dogs, as well as their families. One of the leading causes of dogs ending up in shelters is behavioral issues. I want to help prevent that. I also want to help the dogs that are currently in local shelters. 5% of every course, class, or workshop will be donated to local shelters, either through individual dog sponsorships or flat donations. I also encourage you to follow my social media pages to see the featured shelter dog of the month. Who knows, maybe you will find your new best friend!
